Things to Do

Visit Historic Ybor City, its cigar factories, shops and world-famous restaurants. In Ybor one can tour the historic downtown on the vintage electric Streetcar Line to Channel Side, where the Cruise Ships dock, and where Tampa’s Florida Aquarium is located.

One can enjoy a walk along Tampa’s beautiful Bayshore Boulevard (the world’s longest continuous sidewalk of 4.5 miles) and enjoy the historic and affluent neighborhood of Old Hyde Park along the way. Here, you will also find a little “village” with unique shops & restaurants to explore and enjoy.

Why not plan a day of fun at Tampa’s famous Busch Gardens theme park, the Adventure Island waterpark, or the  Lowery Park Zoo, recognized by the State of Florida as the center for Florida wildlife conservation and biodiversity. Also, Orlando and Disneyworld is only an hour away.

WeekiWachee Springs (home of live mermaids), and the Historic Bok Sanctuary are also a delightful and satisfying day trip, worth the short drive. Make a day of it!

Need more MUSIC than we have to offer? There’s always plenty of nightlife to be found in Tamps, easily within a short 20-minute drive. Enjoy live music at Skippers Smokehouse or catch a concert or other performances at St. Pete Times Forum, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, The Tampa Convention Center and/or the Historic Tampa Theatre.

Sometimes it is raining in Tampa but that won’t limit one’s opportunities for finding something rewarding to do! There’s the MoSI (Museum of Science and Industry), and the Salvador Dali Museum in nearby St. Petersburg. Should you want to learn about Tampa’s History, one can visit the Historic Tampa Bay Hotel which is now The University of Tampa. For a world-class gaming experience, the Seminole Hard Rock Casino is not far from Gram’s Place.

Maybe you are a sports fan looking to take in a game. There’s often a scheduled game at Raymond James Stadium and then there’s also the Yankee Stadium Legends Field.

Beaches? Water? Visit any of the nearby the West Coast Beaches of Florida. Clearwater Beach and many other Gulf beaches are only 30 minutes away. If you are looking for a nature activitiy  Channelside Watersports offers boat and kayak rentals for one to explore Tampa’s diverse waterways.
